  • Structures: what is this?/ what is that
  • It’s a/ an

2. Skills: Using all 4 skills.

3. Education: Educate ss to learn hard

B. PREPARATION.

1. Teacher: lesson plan, English 6-book, pictures, tape, extra board

2. Students: review the grammar points and vocabulary

C. METHODS: T/ WhC, pair, group, individual work

D. CONTENTS:

I. Warm-up (4’)

Chatting: asks ss some things in their classroom say in Vietnamese

Step 1. Presentation.(12’)

+Pre teach:Use pictures and realias to present vocabulary:

(a) door: cửa chính/ (a) window: cửa sổ

(a) board: bảng/ (a) clock: đồng hồ

(a) waster basket: Thùng rác

(a) school bag: cặp sách

(a)pencil: bút chì/

(a) pen: bút mực

(a) ruler: thước kẻ /

(an) eraser: cái tẩy.

+Checking: R &

T elicits dialogue.

T: What is this/that?

S:It is a door/an eraser.

T helps Ss practise dialogue: T-Ss; half-half; pairs. Then T asks Ss to complete the missing words: this, it, is, spell.

- Concept check:

+ Meaning: T asks Ss translate dialogue in to Vietnamese.

+ Form: What’s this/that?

It’s+a/an+N(số ít)

+Use: Hỏi và trả lời về tên đồ vật ở gần or xa

It is a door/an eraser.

-"a" is placed before single N that open by one consonat

Eg:a book, a desk, a door

-"an" is placed before single N that opens by one vowel (a, e, u, i, o)

Eg:an ink pot ,an eraser

Step 2. Practice (15’)

Ask Ss to open the books(page 28)and look at the pictures.

-Play the tape or read part C2 first.

-Have some Ss to read again.

-Let them to practice themselves.

-Ask Ss to look at the picture part C2 then talk about name of objects.

-Call some Ss to practice speaking.

-Check and correct.

T asks Ss to practise asking and answering with real things in or around class in pairs; T- Wc ; …

Eg: What’s this? – It’s a ruler.

*Wordsquare:

-Presents the wordsquare & asks Ss to work in pairs to find out the words by circling the word.

-Devides the class into two groups to practice.

- Corrects & comments.

 

 

 

Step 3. Further practice:(8ms)

- Introduces the requirement & helps Ss to play the game in groups.
