Step 1. Presentation: (13’) - play video games: chơi điện tử - ride a bike: đi xe đạp - drive : lái xe - wait for: đợi, chờ Checking vocabulary: Slap the board *presentation D Dialogue build. + T. sets the scene + T- sts, sts- T + T. writes the dialogue but leave some blanks + T. calls 4 sts to come to the board and fill in the gaps Nam: Hi ! What are you doing, Hoa? Hoa: I am playing video games. Nam: What is she doing? Hoa: She is learning her lessons. Concept check * Present progressive tense(Thì Hiện tại tiếp diễn) * Form : what + tobe + S + doing? - Affirmative : S + am / is / are + V.ing. - Negative : S + am/ is/ are (not)+ Ving - Interrogative : Am / is / are + S + V.ing ? * Usage :Thì HTTD diễn tả 1 hành động đang xảy ra tại thời điểm nói. * Some adverbs used in the P. P. T - now, right now, at the moment, at present, at this time Step 2 : Practice : (15’) Picture Cue Drill (A3 on page 83) - Run through all picture cues . - T. models => sts repeat Example: - What are you doing ? - I am reading. - Teacher – Whole class. - Open pairs => Close pairs. Step 3 : Production : (8’) Noughts and crosses - Divide the class into 2 teams. - One team is Noughts (0) and the other is crosses(x). - One team starts choosing a number and makes a question and an answer with the given words. If the question and the answer are correct, T puts a mark (O or X ) in that square. - The first team to get 3 in a row (across, down or diagonally) wins the game. E.g: S1: What are you doing? S2: I am reading. | Sts guess - Sts repeat chorally first, then individually. - Sts copy Sts repeat chorally and individually - 4 sts come to the board and fill in the gaps - Sts give the form and use - Sts copy
