I. OBJECTIVES:

1. Aims: At the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to:

  • Talk about their study and the subjects they learn at school.
  • Listen for details about a report card.

2. Knowledge:

* Grammar: Review advice in Reported Speech.

3. Skills: Speaking, listening & writing

II. PREPARATION:

1. Teacher: Posters, textbook, workbook, tape, cassette.

2. Students:

  • textbook, workbook
  • Prepare: Speak and Listen -P.47,48; answer the questions on page 48.

III. PROCEDURES:

1. Revision: (5’) Network

- Introduces the lesson.

I. PRE-SPEAKING: (10’)

* Answer questions:

- Hangs on the questions and elicits the meaning and the way to answer them.

- Makes the model and asks Ss to use the information in the box to answer the questions.

- Asks Ss to work in pairs with the questions.

- Invites four pairs to ask and answer

II. WHILE-SPEAKING: (12’)

* Reporting:

- Asks Ss to work in groups of four to tell again about their friends’ answer.

Example: Nga often does her homework after dinner. Her father usually helps her with her homework…

- Calls on some Ss to practice speaking before class.

- Comments and corrects Ss’ mistakes.

III. POST-SPEAKING: (15’)

* Listening

- Hangs on the poster with the report card and hands out the worksheets.

- Runs through the information and focuses Ss the meaning of each item.

- Plays the tape twice for ss to listen and do the task.

- Gets feedback and plays the tape once again and checks the information.

- Answer questions.

- Listen to teacher.

- Share their ideas with teacher.

- Answer about their information, using the information in the box.

- Ask and answer to talk about their study.

- Ask and answer to the front.

* Example:

S2: I often do my homework after dinner.

- Work in groups to practice speaking skill.

- Practice speaking before class.

- Listen and correct.

IV. HOMEWORK: (2’)
