I. Modals: must, have to, ought to (16’)

1. Language focus 1: Use “ must or have to” and the verb in the box to complete the dialogue.

- Asks Ss to look at the pictures and gives the model.

- Elicits the meaning, form and use again.

- Asks Ss to work in pairs, match the verbs and complete the dialogue.

- Gets feedback and asks the whole to correct.

- Asks Ss to practise the dialogue in pairs.

2. Language focus 2: Use “ ought to” to give advice

- Elicits the model from Ss then writes it on the board.

II. Reflexive pronouns: (10’)

III. Why-Because: (10’)

Language focus 4: Talk about the reason, using Why-Because

- Asks Ss to look at the pictures and then gives the model.

S1: Why did Hoa go to school late this morning?

S2: Because she watched TV late last night.

- Elicits the way to use Why- because then explains it clearer.

- Hangs on the cues, focuses Ss on the Vpast form and asks them to complete them in pairs.

- Invites Ss to give their answers.

- Comments and corrects.

- Pay attention.

- Revise the meaning, use and form.
