I. Revision:

1. Passive forms: (10’)

- Give out examples and ask ss to give the forms.

Ex: a) She painted the house last week.

Š The house was painted last week.

b) I have cut down the trees.

Š The trees has been cut down by me.

- Consolidate the knowledge.

2. Reported speech: (12’)

- Elicit the way to change a direct speech into a reported speech by giving some examples.

Ex: a) “I’m a student.”

-> He said he was a student.

b) “Are you twelve years old?”

-> She asked me if I was twelve years old.

- Consolidate the knowledge.

a. Tenses

Direct speech Reported speech

- Present simple -> Past simple

- Will -> Would

- Must -> Had to

- Can -> Could

b. Pronouns :

( depending on the subject of the main clause )

c. Adverb of place and time

This -> that / Now -> then

Here - > there / Today -> that day

Tomorrow->the next day/the following day

Yesterday -> the day before

Ago -> before

II. Practice: (20’)

- Hang up the poster and guide ss to do the exercise.

Rewrite the following sentences without changing their meaning:

1. “I can drive car.”

-> He said……………………………….

2. “Do you work in this company?”

-> She asked me ………………………..

3. “Is your father a farmer?”

-> My teacher asked me ………………..

4. “This film is very interesting.”

-> Mai said………………………………

5. I bought this book yesterday.

->This book …………………………….

6. They have built this bridge for ten years.

-> This bridge …………………………..

- Call on some Ss go to the board and write the answer.

- Get comments and correct.

- Give out the form.

* Passive form of past simple tense:

S + was/were + p.p + (by + O).

* Passive form of present perfect tense:

S + have/has + been + p.p + (by + O).

- Listen and write down.

- Answer T’s questions.

- Listen and write down.

- Read the sentences and do the exercise individually.

- Write the answer on the board.

- Comment and correct.
