How People Use Different Media

Hey, guys! This week, I’ve been learning about different forms of media, and I noticed that different generations often use different media.

Like most teens, I use social media a lot. I enjoy chatting with my friends, but I also use social media for other things.

Recently, I’ve been using social media to get news about my favourite soccer team. I can follow the social media pages for different teams and get up-to-the-minute updates on games around the world. I’ve been posting videos of my team’s goals on my page so that my friends and I can comment on them.

My dad loves soccer, too, and follows the same team. But unlike me, he doesn’t read online forums to get information. He gets his information from sports shows on TV. I think social media is better way to follow a soccer team because the opinions and comments that people post in the forums are really interesting. I’ve been telling my dad for a long time that he can join in discussions about players and other news, but he said he’s happy just watching sports shows on TV.

My grandfather follows the same soccer team because my family has been supporting them for generations. However, he gets most of his information from the radio. We have a television, of course, but my grandfather likes to close his eyes and listen to the radio in his armchair. He says the radio is more relaxing than watching the TV. Personally, I think the radio is outdated, but my grandfather has been using it is whole life, so I don’t think he’ll change.
