I. OBJECTIVES:
1. Aims: - At the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to use the present progressive tense to show changes with “get“ and “become” and listen to get information about an arrangement and use the present continuous to talk about a plan in the future, talk about the changes of their home village.
2. Knowlege:
* Vocabulary: Review
* Grammar: Present progressive tense to show changes with the verbs “to get”, “to become”.
3. Skills: Speaking, listening and writing.
II. PREPARATION:
1. Teacher: Lesson plan, projector.
2. Students: Review present progressive tense.
III. PROCEDURES:
1. Warm-up: (2’)
- Tgives out the pictures and asks Ss to distinguish the difference in the pictures.
- Introduces: She is becoming taller/ She is getting taller.
2. New lesson:

I. PRE-SPEAKING: 1. Model sentences: (5’) - Write the examples on the board and elicits the structure from Ss. Example: + She is becoming taller/She is getting taller. + She is becoming more beautiful. - Introduces the use of the structure: To talk about changes. 2. Network: (5’) - Gives out two pictures on page 73 and asks Ss to complete the network individually. - Gets feedback. - Comments and adds more. II. WHILE-SPEAKING 1. Picture drill (P.73) (8’) - Introduces the example exchange. *) Example exchange: S1: What do you think about streets? S2: 5 years ago, the streets were narrow, but now they are becoming busier and noisier. - Asks Ss to work in groups of four to talk about the changes of the town between the past and now. - Goes round to help Ss and monitor class. - Asks Ss to show their ideas to the front. - Corrects if neccessary, and gives more ideas about the topic. 2. Word cue drill (7’) - Asks Ss to list the changes in their hometown. - Give Ss cue words and asks them to work in pairs to discuss the changes in their hometown. a) school/big b) houses/tall c) streets/dirty d) air/polluted e) means of transport/modern - Calls on some Ss to speak before class. - Gets comments and corrects. III. POST-SPEAKING: (8’) Listening and filling in the dialogue (P.74) - Explains the task and asks Ss to listen to the tape twice. - Asks the whole to share their ideas. - Gets feedback and checks the answer with the whole class. *) Answer key: 1. that 2. this 3.
