UNIT 3: MY TOYS

Lesson 5

I. Objectives

- By the end of this unit, pupils can say, recognize, and write the letter Ff.

- Pupils can recognize and say the sound /f/.

- Pupils can develop fine motor control.

II. Procedures

*Warm up: Review the sounds and forms of letters a, b, c, d and e.

A. Presentation

1. Learn the letter

Step 1: Say fan and fig. Pupils repeat the words.

Step 2: Write them on the board and read aloud the words.

Step 3: Have pupils repeat the letter word and letter sound.

Step 4: Tell pupils to practice.

B. Practice

1. Sing

Step 1: Play the CD. Tell pupils to listen to the song.

Step 2: Play the CD again and pause after each line. Sing the line and tell pupils to repeat after teacher.

Step 3: Play CD again and ask pupils to sing the song.

C. Production

1. Find

Step 1: Tell pupils to find the letter f in the alphabet.

Step 2: Tell pupils to look at the main picture on page 20.

Step 3: Say fan and fig. Check that pupils are pointing to the fan and fig.

D. Application

- Learn vocabularies by heart.

WEEK 10 – PERIOD 20

UNIT 3: MY TOYS

Lesson 6

I. Objectives

- By the end of this unit, pupils can understand and enjoy a story.

- Pupils can revise numbers 1-4.

- Pupils can develop listening skills in English.

II. Procedures

*Warm up: Review greetings.

A. Presentation

1. Look and say

Step 1: Repeat for all the characters in the story.

Step 2: Say Point to picture and check comprehension.

Step 3: Ask pupils questions about the story in their own language.

B. Practice

1. Listen

Step 1: Play the CD and pause between each frame.

Step 2: Ask pupils to tell you in their own language what they understood..

Step 3: Play CD again.

2. Listen and act

Step 1: Play the CD and pause between each frame.

Step 2: Tell the class that they are going to act out the story.

Step 3: Ask other groups to act out the story.

C. Production

1. Sing

Step 1: Play the CD. Tell pupils to listen to the song.

Step 2: Play the CD again and pause after each line. Sing the line and tell pupils to repeat after teacher.

Step 3: Play CD again and ask pupils to sing the song.

D. Application

- Learn vocabularies by heart.
