UNIT 5: MY COLOURS
Lesson 3
I. Objectives
- By the end of this unit, pupils can say, recognize, and write the letter Ii.
- Pupils can recognize and say the sound /i/.
- Pupil can develop fine motor control.
II. Procedures
*Warm up: Review the letters: a, b, c, d, e, f, g, h.
A. Presentation
1. Learn the letter
Step 1: Say I, iguana and insect. Pupils repeat the words.
Step 2: Write them on the board and read aloud the words.
Step 3: Have pupils repeat the letter Ii and letter sound.
Step 4: Tell pupils to practice.
B. Practice
1. Sing
Step 1: Play the CD. Tell pupils to listen to the song.
Step 2: Play the CD again and pause after each line. Sing the line and tell pupils to repeat after teacher.
Step 3: Play CD again and ask pupils to sing the song.
C. Production
1. Find
Step 1: Tell pupils to find the letter a in the alphabet.
Step 2: Tell pupils to look at the main picture.
Step 3: Say iguana and insect. Check that pupils are pointing to the iguana and insect.
D. Application
- Learn the song by heart.
WEEK 16 – PERIOD 32
UNIT 5: MY COLOURS
Lesson 4
I. Objectives
- By the end of this unit, pupils can identify, write and use numbers 6 and 7.
II. Procedures
*Warm up: Review structure: How many pencils?
A. Presentation
1. Count 1-7
Step 1: Write the number 6 and 7.
Step 2: Say six and seven.
Step 3: Point to the correct picture.
Step 4: Check that pupils are pointing to the correct picture.
B. Practice
1. Sing
Step 1: Play the CD. Tell pupils to listen to the song.
Step 2: Play the CD again and pause after each line. Sing the line and tell pupils to repeat after teacher.
Step 3: Play CD again and ask pupils to sing the song.
C. Production
1. Sing and do
Step 1: Call seven children to the front to be the insects. Give each pupil a number flashcard.
Step 2: Call another pupil to the front to be the iguana. Give the pupil the green and blue flashcard. Tell the pupil to hold up the colour cards when these words are sung.
Step 3: Tell the pupils to sing a song and do the actions.
D. Application
- Learn numbers by heart.
