     Giải thích: Viết lại từ so sánh nhất sang so sánh hơn dạng phủ định

    “clever” → so sánh hơn là “cleverer”

    Dịch: Không ai trong lớp của Oliver thông minh hơn cậu ấy.

    Rewrite the sentence using the Comparison of Equality.

    Mai did better on the Math test than Linh. (do/well)

    → Linh didn’t do as well as Mai on the Math test.

    Đáp án là:

    Mai did better on the Math test than Linh. (do/well)

    → Linh didn’t do as well as Mai on the Math test.

     "Better" → dạng gốc là "well"

    Dạng phủ định: didn’t do as well as

    Dịch: Linh làm bài kiểm tra Toán không tốt bằng Mai.

    → Her sister is interested in the same subject as her.

    Đáp án là:

    → Her sister is interested in the same subject as her.

     So sánh chủ đề yêu thích ⇒ dùng “the same as”.

    “Hers” = her favorite subject (môn học yêu thích của cô ấy).

    Dịch: Môn học yêu thích của em gái cô ấy giống của cô ấy.

    Rewrite the sentence using the Comparison of Equality.

    She is 14 years old. Her best friend is also 14 years old. (same)

    → Her best friend is the same age as her.

    Đáp án là:

    She is 14 years old. Her best friend is also 14 years old. (same)

    → Her best friend is the same age as her.

     So sánh độ tuổi ⇒ dùng “the same + age + as”.

    “She is” đứng cuối câu để tránh lặp lại "14 years old".

    Dịch: Bạn thân của cô ấy cùng tuổi với cô ấy.

    ➔ Last month was colder than this month.

    Đáp án là:

     Giải thích: Đổi sang từ "colder" → so sánh hơn.

    “Last month” là chủ ngữ mới.

    Dịch: Tháng trước lạnh hơn tháng này.

    “children are excited” → the more excited the children are

    Dịch: Trò chơi càng khó thì lũ trẻ càng hào hứng.

     "More difficult than" = so sánh hơn với tính từ dài → khi dùng từ trái nghĩa "easier", ta đảo ngược vị trí 2 môn học.

    "easier" là so sánh hơn của "easy" → easy → easier

    Dịch: Theo tôi, Ngữ văn dễ hơn Toán.

  • Câu 9: Vận dụng
    Rewrite the sentence using the Comparison of Equality.

    The tiger runs 60 km per hour. The lion runs 70km per hour. (run/fast)

    → The tiger doesn’t run as fast as the lion.

    Đáp án là:

    The tiger runs 60 km per hour. The lion runs 70km per hour. (run/fast)

    → The tiger doesn’t run as fast as the lion.

     So sánh trạng từ: fast

    “Doesn’t run as fast as” là cấu trúc phủ định

    Dịch: Con hổ không chạy nhanh bằng sư tử.

     Giải thích: “No one ... more adorable” → nghĩa tương đương với “Helen là người đáng yêu nhất”.

    So sánh nhất của “adorable” là the most adorable.

    Dịch: Helen là người đáng yêu nhất trong nhóm.

    Rewrite the sentence using the double comparative.

    My sister spends a lot of time studying for the test. She is exhausted.

    → The more my sister studies for the test, the more exhausted she is.

    Đáp án là:

     Giải thích: “Spends a lot of time studying” → studies more

    “She is exhausted” → more exhausted

    → Dùng “the more... the more...” để diễn tả mối quan hệ nguyên nhân – kết quả.

    Dịch: Càng học nhiều để chuẩn bị bài kiểm tra, chị tôi càng mệt mỏi.

    Rewrite the sentence using the Comparison of Equality.

    This city is 41ºC in summer. That city is also 41ºC in summer. (is/hot)

    → This city is as hot as that city in summer.

    Đáp án là:

    This city is 41ºC in summer. That city is also 41ºC in summer. (is/hot)

    → This city is as hot as that city in summer.

     So sánh bằng với tính từ “hot”

    Dịch: Thành phố này nóng như thành phố kia vào mùa hè.
