During the festival, both men and women dress up in traditional clothing and participate in a variety of exciting activities, such as folk games and performing arts.

In northern Vietnam, ethnic groups such as the Pu Peo, Nung and Red Dao celebrate the Forest Opening Festival. This festival is a demonstration of their beliefs and a way to show thanks to the Forest God, while also raising public awareness about the importance of protecting forests and conserving water resources. During the festival, both men and women usually dress up in their traditional clothes. They prepare and eat traditional food. Men play folk songs with the gong while women have traditional dances.
