I’m often asked why there are nearly always problems between teenagers and their parents. They appear in families which have never had problems before. There are a number of reasons for this.
Firstly, teenagers need to become independent and start making their own decisions, even if some of them are bad. They don’t want to ask (1) ________for every single thing which they want to do on their own.
Secondly, teenagers may not want to wear the clothes or have the hairstyle which their parents prefer. This is because (2) ________is important to fit in with a group. Teenagers usually want to be part of the current trend, because they need to be accepted by their friends.
Problems may appear because parents may not like the way their children start to behave when they become teenagers. Previously, the child probably did everything he or she was asked immediately.
