Read the following passage about the role of teachers and mark the letter A, B, C, or D on your answer sheet to indicate the best answer to each of the questions from 1 to 10.
Who shapes the person you are the most? While parents or family members are often at the top of the list, teachers likely come a close second. Many influential people credit their success to a teacher who inspired them during childhood.
Imagine life without the personal computer. Without two of Bill Gates's high school teachers, that might have been our reality. Gates's maths teacher, Fred Wright, encouraged him to push harder, which may explain Gates’s relentless drive, sometimes sleeping under his desk at work. Meanwhile, his drama teacher, Anne Stephens, helped him embrace the spotlight by making the sometimes withdrawn schoolboy the star of the school play. Gates has said, "There’s no way there would be a Microsoft without them." And he's not the only one. Oprah Winfrey, talk show host, actress and TV producer, also attributes her success to a teacher. Her fourth-grade teacher, Mrs. Duncan, inspired her to believe in herself. Oprah once said, "You did exactly what teachers are supposed to do. They create a spark for learning that lives with you forever. It’s why I have a talk show today."
For some children, teachers are the only positive influences in their lives. Antwone Fisher, a
best-selling writer who grew up in foster homes, recalls his primary school teacher, Mrs. Profitt, as the first adult he trusted. "She spoke to us with respect," he said. "Being with her for three years made all the difference." [I] UNESCO wants us to remember that education is a basic human right and every child should have free education. However, 264 million children worldwide are not in school due to a lack of teachers. [II] These children often live in poor or remote areas or are displaced by war. [III] To address this, UNESCO aims to train 69 million new teachers by 2030. [IV]
If you have a teacher, consider yourself lucky. One day, you may look back on your successes and realize a teacher’s words helped shape them. The impact of a great teacher can last a lifetime, shaping not only individual futures but also the world as a whole.

Read the following passage about climate change and mark the letter A, B, C, or D on your answer sheet to indicate the best answer to each of the questions from 11 to 18.
Mia stared out the window at the steady rain pouring from the gray sky. It felt endless, as if the
seasons had become different. She remembered the stories her grandparents used to share about winters filled with snow and summers warm and bright. Those memories seemed far away now, almost like they belonged to another world.
Her town had changed a lot because of climate change. The river nearby had flooded twice last year, forcing families to leave their homes and, in some cases, their community. The tall trees that once lined the streets had disappeared, leaving empty spaces behind. Schools had even added lessons about preparing for natural disasters - something no one needed to learn about in the past.
Mia and her friend Lucas decided they had to do something to help. They came up with a plan to plant trees in their town, hoping to bring life back to their streets. When they shared their idea with other kids, they wanted to join. They picked a spot near the old playground and got to work digging holes for the saplings. The job was tough, but working together made it fun.
Soon, more people heard about their project and offered to help. Families donated seeds, shovels, and other supplies. Slowly, the empty playground started to look green again. The trees began to grow, and birds returned, filling the air with their cheerful songs.
Mia realized that even small actions could create big changes. While they couldn’t stop the rain or fix the weather, they could still make their town a better place to live. The project brought people together, and new friendships grew alongside the trees. Standing in the fresh, green space, Mia felt hopeful. She knew they could face the future, no matter what it brought, as long as they worked together.
