I. OBJECTIVES:
1. Aims: At the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to:
Learn vocabulary about telecommunicative equipments and practise making arrangements; revise “be going to + bare-inf.” with the intentions.
2. Knowlege:
* Vocabulary: to arrange, downstairs, upstairs, to make a call, to wait a minute.
* Grammar: Making arrangements.
* Pronunciation: /æ/, /ə/, /eɪ/
3. Skills: Listening, reading and speaking
II. PREPARATION:
1. Teacher: Lesson plan, Textbook, Teacher’s book, cassette, posters
2. Students: Find out the meaning of words in the box on page 18.
III. PROCEDURES:
1. Warm-up: (5’) Getting started: (Pictures on p.18) (Task for groupwork)
*) Answer key:

c, a fax machine f, an address book
(T shows and run through the phrases; asks Ss to match the pictures with the phrases in groups, then explain the meaning)

Guiding questions: (7’) - Hangs up the questions, runs them through. - Instructs them to listen to the dialogue. - Plays the tape twice for ss to listen and asks them to listen and share their answers in pairs. II. WHILE-STAGES: 1. Practise the dialogue (P.19) (6’) - Plays the tape twice and asks Ss to listen with closed books. - Asks Ss to practise the text in pairs. - Invites two pairs to practise the dialogue . - Helps Ss to correct pronunciations. 2. Comprehension questions (7’) - Asks Ss to read the dialogue again to answer the Qs at P.19. - Gets feedback and gives feedback. III. POST-STAGES: (12’) * Consolidation: Mapped Dialogue | - Try out and repeat chorally- individually - Give the meaning & make sentences - Run through the words and practice reading before class. - Read through the sentences and follow T/s instructions - Read through the sentences and follow T/s instructions 1, What time does the movie Dream City starts?- At 6.45 2, Is the film on at Sao Mai Movie Theater?- Yes, it is 3, What time doNga and Hoa meet? - At 6.30 - Listen to the dialogue. - Play the roles in pairs. - Read out the dialogue orally. - Check and correct themselves. - Read it and answer them individually - Speak out their answers and explain |
IV. HOMEWORK: (2’)
- Asks Ss to revise the lesson & do excercises 2,3 P.13,14 (workbook)
- Asks Ss to prepare: Speak and listen - P.20,21.
- Study the way to make arrangements by telephone and revise the invitation with: Would you like + Vto-inf............?
