I. OBJECTIVES:
1. Aims: At the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to:
Practise making arrangements by telephone and revise the invitation with: Would you like + to-inf............?
2. Knowlege:
* Grammar: Would you like + to-inf............?
3. Skills: Speaking, listening & writing
II. PREPARATION:
1. Teacher:Lesson plan, Textbook, Teacher’s book, cassette, posters
2. Students:
- Textbook, notebook.
- Study the way to make arrangements by telephone and revise the invitation with: Would you like + to-inf............?
III. PROCEDURES:
1. Revision: (6’) Mapped dialogue (Consolidation in period 7)
(asks Ss to work in pairs and then make the dialogue to the front)

PRE-SPEAKING: (10’) Ordering - Hangs on the conversation and revises Ss with: Can I ...?/Would you like...? - Asks Ss to guess its order in groups. - Gets feedback and shares ideas with the whole class. - Focuses on the form of making arrangements. - Invites three pairs to practice the dialogue II. WHILE-SPEAKING: (12’) Dialogue completion - Sets the scene and asks Ss to read through the dialogue first. - Elicits the language from Ss and notices: Would you like to .....?/What about......? - Asks them to work in pairs to complete the dialogue. - Gets feedback. - Gives possible dialogues and asks Ss to practise the dialogue again. *) Possible answer: Bao: Can I speak to Ba please? This is Bao. Bao: I am fine, thanks. And you? Bao: Would you like to play chess tonight? III. POST-SPEAKING: (12’) Listening - Hangs on the Form on page 21 and works with Ss about the parts of the message form. - Elicits the information in the gaps. - Gives the worksheets and plays the tape twice for Ss to listen and fill in the missing information. - Asks Ss to share their results. - Plays the tape again for Ss to check. - Gets feedback. - Plays the tape once again and help Ss to correct their answers. *) Answer key: | - Listen to T and copy down. - Work in groups, share their ideas, then write the order on the worksheets. - Exploit the conversation with T. - Take notes and practice the conversation. * Answer key: - Read through the dialogue. - Say out their ideas. - Work in pairs. - Give answer. Bao: What about tomorrow afternoon? Bao: I/ll meet you at the Central Chess Club. Bao: Is 2 o/clock OK? - Give their ideas for each items. - Listen and fill in the gaps. - Work in pairs & share their ideas. - Listen and check their results. - Speak out their answers. - Listen again and check their information, then compare it with their predictions |

IV. HOMEWORK: (3’)
- Asks Ss to complete the conversation on page 20-21 at home
