VSTEP Speaking Part 1 là phần mở đầu trong bài thi VSTEP Speaking và thường kéo dài khoảng 3 phút, thí sinh bắt đầu phần thi bằng việc giới thiệu bản thân và được yêu cầu trả lời một số câu hỏi liên quan đến 2 chủ đề quen thuộc có trong đời sống hằng ngày như: công việc, sở thích, quê quán, gia đình,…

1. What’s your name?

My name is Trang. My full name is Tran Quynh Trang. As you know it is a popular name in our country. However, to me, it is a really meaningful name because it was given by my beloved grandmother who passed away many years ago.

2. Where are you from? Tell me about your hometown. What thing do you like or dislike about your hometown?

I come from Thai Nguyen which is quite near Tuyen Quang, Bac Kan, Lang Son, Bac Giang, Vinh Phuc, and Hanoi. It often takes me an hour to get to Hanoi by coach and about 1.5 hours to get here by motorbike.

3. Where do you live?

I come from Thai Nguyen City which is well-known by Tan Cuong Tea Plantation. I love my hometown because not only I was born and grew up but also there are many relatives as my childhood friends.

4. What do you do?/ Do you work or study?

I am working as a teacher of History at Luong Ngoc Quyen High School in my hometown. This was my dream job when I was a primary student.

5. What do you do in your free time?

Well, in the past, I used to spend my free time wastefully. I just slept and did nothing at the weekend. However, nowadays I find time really precious. So I always try to make my time meaningful by doing many things. I read an English newspaper that helps me improve my vocabulary and grammar. I am also really into listening to English country music. Music cheers me up and keeps my spirit high. Sometimes when I have long holidays, I love traveling to somewhere interesting to discover new things, meet new people, and try new food. Of course, I never forget to spend time with my parents on weekends. We talk about things we have done during the weekend, watch movies, and discuss our favorite programs together.

6. Do you play sports? What sports do you like most? What sports are popular in your country?

Answer 1: I don’t really like playing sports. Because I’m not good at them. If I have a sport I
like most, then it would be ....

In my opinion, the popular sport in my country is football because It is very excited and
called King sport in the world.
