- As soon as nghĩa là “ngay khi”; diễn tả một sự việc xảy ra ngay sau một sự việc khác.

- Có thể sử dụng As soon as ở thì hiện tại, quá khứ và tương lai, thể hiện 2 hành động diễn ra liên tiếp.

I. 1. Cấu trúc as soon as ở tương lai

As soon as cũng có thể được sử dụng để nói về 2 hành động nối tiếp diễn ra ở tương lai chưa diễn ra ở thời điểm nói.

Công thức:

S1 + V (tương lai đơn) + as soon as + S2 + V (hiện tại đơn/ hiện tại hoàn )

Ví dụ:

I’ll call you as soon as I get home

Tôi sẽ gọi cho bạn ngay sau khi tôi về nhà

I. 2. Cấu trúc As soon as ở quá khứ

As soon as có thể được sử dụng để diễn tả 2 hành động nối tiếp nhau trong quá khứ.

Công thức:

S1 + V (quá khứ đơn) + as soon as + S2 + V (quá khứ đơn/quá khứ hoàn thành)

Ví dụ:

I called my dad as soon as I arrived to Hanoi.

Tôi đã gọi cho bố mình ngay sau khi tới Hà Nội.
