1. Cách sử dụng

- Diễn tả một hành động xảy ra và đã chấm dứt ở một thời điểm xác định trong quá khứ.

Eg: She went to school by bus yesterday (Hôm qua cô ấy đã đi học bằng xe buýt)

- Kể lại một chuỗi hành động xảy ra liên tục

Eg: First he had breakfast and then he left for work.

- Diễn tả một hành động đang xảy ra thì một hành động khác xen vào.

Eg: Yesterday when I was going home, I saw an accident

a/ Đối với động từ tobe

(+) S + was/ were + Adj/ N

(-) S + wasn’t/ weren’t + Adj/ N
