Dear Mark,

How are you? I’m going to tell you about the Buffalo – fighting Festival in Do Son. This festival takes place every year, on August 9th according to Lunar calendar. The buffalo fighting competition is the main event of the festival, in which two male water buffaloes are pitted against each other in a battle of strength and skill. It is also a wonderful time for me to gather with family and friends, enjoy traditional food and drink, and take part in other cultural activities such as lion dances and folk games.

I hope one day you can join the festival with us.

Dear Mark,

How are you? I’m going to tell you about Lim Festival. This special festival was held on the thirteenth day of the first lunar month by local residents. Coming here on the festive days, I and thousands of visitors enjoyed the singing of traditional love duets (Quan Ho fork songs). I also watched a weaving competition among the village girls who wove and sang Quan Ho simultaneously. Other traditional games such as human chess-playing, cockfighting contest, rice-cooking contest, tug of war and wrestling were also held.
