Good afternoon and welcome to our 12 o'clock news bulletin. In today's top story, we bring you the details of an accident that took place in the centre of the capital city at 9am this morning. A truck was carrying a load of construction equipment when the driver lost control and crashed into several vehicles, causing a major traffic jam in the area and injuring three people. Emergency services arrived at the scene within minutes to deal with the situation, and the injured have been taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. The authorities have blocked off the area to allow for the safe removal of the vehicles. Traffic in the area has been heavily affected as a result, and commuters are being advised to take alternative routes. The road is expected to have been reopened by two o'clock this afternoon, but delays may occur. The police have launched an investigation into the cause of the accident, and initial reports suggest that the driver of the truck may have lost control of the vehicle due to a mechanical failure in the vehicle's brakes. We advise all drivers to take caution while driving on the roads, especially during peak hours, and to cooperate with the authorities in case of emergencies.
