Câu hỏi trong lời nói gián tiếp: Câu hỏi trong lời nói gián tiếp được chia làm 2 loại:
- Câu hỏi Yes/ No (Câu hỏi bắt đầu với các trợ động từ)
- Câu hỏi có từ để hỏi Wh_question
1. Câu hỏi Yes/ No
Loại câu hỏi này được chuyển sang dạng được tường thuật bằng cách sử dụng cấu trúc:
S + Asked (+O) / Wondered/ Wanted/ Wanted to know + If/ Whether + S+ V
Eg:
Trực tiếp: “Do you understand music?” he asked.
Gián tiếp: He asked if/ whether I understood music.
2. Câu hỏi có từ để hỏi
Loại câu hỏi này được chuyển sang dạng được tường thuật bằng cách sử dụng cấu trúc:
S + Asked (+O)+ Wondered +Wanted to know + Wh-Words + S+ V
Eg:
Trực tiếp: “What is her name?” he asked.
Gián tiếp: He asked me what her name was.
