It is one of those places that make New York a city that never sleeps. Located on Liberty Island in New York Harbor, the Statue of Liberty is a gift of friendship from the people of France to the United States and is regarded as a symbol of freedom and democracy. New York City is also the home of the United Nations headquarters.
