II. Động từ khởi phát (causatives): HAVE và GET
Chúng ta sử dụng động từ khởi phát để đề cập đến việc ai đó khiến người khác làm điều gì đó.
- Chúng ta sử dụng động từ khởi phát chủ động khi muốn tập trung vào người thực hiện hành động.
have + tân ngữ (người) + nguyên thể không có to
get + tân ngữ (người) + to-infinitive
The city government had a construction company build a new high-rise building.
The city government got a construction company to build a new high-rise building.
- Chúng ta sử dụng động từ khởi phát thụ động khi không muốn tập trung vào người thực hiện hành động.
have/get + tân ngữ (vật) + phân từ quá khứ (+ by + tân ngữ)
The apartment building manager had/ got the heating system fixed (by a plumber).
Chúng ta có thể sử dụng cấu trúc này để nói về điều gì đó xảy ra với ai đó hoặc đồ đạc của họ.
Susan had his motorbike stolen.
(Xe máy của Susan đã bị đánh cắp; ai đó đã lấy trộm xe máy của cô ấy.)
