The Rise of the Citizen Journalist
A hundred years ago, people got their news from reading newspapers and listening to the radio. There wasn’t much choice of (1) __________ and often just one radio news broadcast. Families would often sit around a radio set in the evening to find out what was happening in the world. Without moving images, they had to use their imaginations a lot more.
In the 1930s, cinemas in the United States began to show short films containing world news.
