What do you do to get ready for the day? Do you get dressed or have a bath? These bears have a routine, too! They live in Yellowstone National Park in the United States. This watering hole in Yellowstone is called the Bear Bathtub. Many bears in Yellowstone go to the Bear Bathtub to wash their fur. These bears wash during the day.
When it is sunny and hot, bears use the Bear Bathtub to cool off. Some bears jump in for a short swim. The bears who take baths stay in the water longer than bears cooling off. Bears also stop by the Bear Bathtub to have a drink. Some bears have a bigger drink than other bears, and sometimes the bears just play!
Yellowstone is very large, and the bears explore the park during the day. An important part of a bear's day is eating. Bears eat both plants and other animals. They have to hunt other animals to eat, and dig in the ground for bugs. They also search for the kinds of plants they like to eat.
Just like you, bears like to play! Little bears, called cubs, especially like playing. Bears play by running, play-fighting and jumping on each other. At the end of the day, and sometimes in the afternoon, bears go to sleep.
