Our parrot, Arturo, is a clever bird. He can talk, and he can also count to five now. My mum taught him, and it was hard work. My parrot can say lots of words, but his favourite words are “What’s for dinner?” He’s always very hungry.

Our dog, Mattie, is really smart. He can do clever tricks, but sometimes he’s very naughty! One day, he chased another dog in the park, and we lost him. We looked everywhere for him, but we didn’t find him. We were really sad, and we went home. Who was at the front door? Our dog, Mattie!

Helen, 9, Greece

My cat, Nelly, is nicer and cleverer than a dog! My parents bought her at a pet shop. We all love her very much. Nelly’s favourite person in our family is my mother because she feeds Nelly every day. She comes quickly when we call “Nelly!”
