Cách phân biệt nhanh nhất:
- Tính từ đuôi -ING dùng để miêu tả tính chất, đặc điểm của sự vật, sự việc hoặc người gây ra cảm xúc.
- Tính từ đuôi -ED dùng để diễn tả cảm xúc, trạng thái của người hoặc con vật khi nhận tác động.

2. Tính từ đuôi -ING
Cách dùng
Tính từ đuôi -ING được dùng khi sự vật, sự việc, hiện tượng hoặc người đó tạo ra cảm xúc cho người khác.
👉 -ING = GÂY RA cảm xúc
Ví dụ
This book is interesting. → Cuốn sách này thú vị/gây hứng thú.
The lesson is boring. → Bài học nhàm chán.
3. Tính từ đuôi -ED
Cách dùng
Tính từ đuôi -ED được dùng khi một người hoặc con vật cảm nhận, trải nghiệm hoặc nhận tác động từ một sự vật, sự việc nào đó.
👉 -ED = CẢM THẤY cảm xúc
Ví dụ
I am interested in this book. → Tôi cảm thấy hứng thú với cuốn sách này.
He was surprised by the news. → Anh ấy ngạc nhiên trước tin tức đó.
4. Mẹo ghi nhớ siêu nhanh
🟢 -ING → GÂY cảm xúc
🔵 -ED → CẢM thấy cảm xúc
Sự vật/sự việc → -ING → Người → -ED
Ví dụ:
The movie is boring. → Bộ phim gây chán.
I am bored. → Tôi cảm thấy chán.
The story is interesting. → Câu chuyện gây hứng thú.
I am interested in the story. → Tôi cảm thấy hứng thú với câu chuyện.
