The red-shanked douc langur is a species of Old World monkey. They live in different countries in southeast Asia such as Indochina; Vietnam, southern Laos and possibly northeastern Cambodia.
Size: The male has an average head and body length of 61 centimeters, and the female averages 54.5 centimeters long, with a tail that measures 55.8–76.2 centimeters long.Males weigh on average 11 kilograms, and females 8.44 kilograms.
Speed: The red-shanked douc langurs are fast animals. They frequently make breath-taking leaps of up to 6 meters.
Food: They prefer to eat small, young and tender leaves, but will also eat fruit like figs, buds, petioles, flowers, bamboo shoots, and seeds.
Problems: The major threat to this species at presnt is hunting, most often for subsistence use and traditional medicine. Local people often hunt Red-shanked doucs for food and pets.
